Firestone High School Cross Country
What is Cross Country?
Cross Country is a fall running sport. Athletes compete in dual meets and invitational throughout the fall against other high schools and middle schools. The race courses are 3.1 miles for high school and 2 miles for middle school. All races are run in parks.
Why Run Cross Country?
- Cross Country will get you in the best shape of your life!
- Example: Many of our runners start off not being able to run for ten minutes without stopping, but by the time they are a sophomore or junior in high school they can run for 90 minutes or longer without stopping!
- Cross Country will help you keep in shape for spring or winter sports such as basketball, wrestling, swimming, baseball, softball, and track and field
- Cross country gives you an opportunity to be a part of a team and make new friends.
- You will have a chance to be a part of a winning tradition!
- The boys cross country team has won 7 city championships in a row!

Conditioning is Monday through Saturday at 9:00 AM Starting June 14th
